Protection designed into every slab

IGA slabs combine multiple security and verification elements, including tamper-evident design, NFC authentication, and verifiable digital certification, helping collectors, dealers, and hobbyists confirm the identity of each item and its recorded data.

Three Layers of Authentication

Tamper-Evident Design

IGA slabs are designed to show visible signs if opened or tampered with. The slab construction and Sonic Seal help protect the item and preserve its connection to the original certificate.

NFC Authentication

Each IGA slab includes NFC linked to the item’s digital certificate page. By tapping the slab with an NFC-enabled phone, users can access the certificate data and verify its connection to the item.

Public Verification

Every certificate number can be searched on igaverify.com, allowing users to match the slab, grade, description, and registered images against the official item record.

IGA Slab Types

Slab formats designed for different sizes of coins, medals, tokens, and special issues, while supporting documentation and digital verification.

IGA Standard Slab

Standard Slab

For coins, medals, and tokens from 13mm to 40mm.

Optically clear polymer · UV-resistant · NFC embedded

IGA Grande Slab

Grande Slab

For larger medals, tokens, and special issues from 41mm to 65mm.

Larger format · Reinforced edges · NFC embedded

IGA Multi-Item Slab

Multi-Item Slab

Configured for related sets, paired issues, year runs, or items intended to be displayed together upon request.

Custom configuration · Multiple chambers · Single NFC · Custom Label

All IGA slabs are designed to support preservation, presentation, and digital verification. Specifications may vary depending on item type, size, and selected service requirements.

Label Variants

Every IGA slab carries a printed label containing the item’s core data, certificate number, and grade. Special label types may be added when eligibility requirements are met.

Standard Label

The core label applied to every certified item, including item description, grade, certificate number, and IGA branding.

First Releases

Used for eligible items submitted within a defined period from the date of issue, according to approved criteria.

Pedigree Label

Used when documented provenance is provided, such as a previous collection, recognized auction, or institutional ownership, subject to supporting documentation.

Signed Labels

A special label option for selected items or issues associated with approved signatures, where eligible.

Event Labels

Special commemorative labels for shows, events, institutional issues, or occasions connected to the collectibles market.

Special Designations

Includes technical designations such as Proof-Like (PL), Deep Cameo (DCAM), Plus Grade (+), and Star (★), applied only when the relevant criteria are met.

How to Spot a Suspicious Slab

Do not rely on the slab’s appearance alone. Proper verification should combine slab inspection, NFC reading, and matching the data and images on the certificate page.

Authentic Slab Indicators

  • NFC responds when tapped with an NFC-enabled phone.
  • Sonic Seal is visible along the slab edge.
  • Label printing is sharp and consistent, with readable Microtext where present.
  • Certificate number matches the verification result on igaverify.com.
  • Images on the Verify page match the physical item.

Warning Signs

  • No NFC response.
  • Visible opening marks, cracks, glue, or repair on the slab.
  • Blurry or inconsistent label printing.
  • Certificate number returns Not Found on verification.
  • Clear mismatch between the physical item and registered images, or between slab data and the Verify page.

When in doubt, use the Verify page first. Verification is available for any IGA certificate.

Slab Generations

As IGA slab designs evolve, each generation is documented to help identify original slab features and review earlier versions when needed.

Report a Suspicious Slab

If you encounter an IGA slab that does not match the Verify page, or one that shows signs of opening or tampering, please submit a report so the case can be reviewed. You may include the certificate number, clear front and back images of the slab, and close-up images of the label and slab edges.

You may also report without sharing personal details if preferred.

Verify with confidence

Every IGA-certified item should be connected to clear data, registered images, and a slab that can be inspected and verified.
